Tucked away in the heart of Fitzrovia, the Six By Nico London Menu at 41 Charlotte Street offers an ever-evolving dining experience that continues to impress with creativity, concept, and precision. What makes this restaurant stand out isn’t just the quality of food-it’s the theatre of storytelling through a six-course tasting menu that changes every six weeks, each iteration rooted in a unique theme, from “Childhood” to “Guilty Pleasures.”
Having dined here during their "Once Upon A Time" concept, I was immediately struck by how each course was inspired by a fairy tale, both in presentation and flavour. The dishes are masterfully curated to engage not only the palate but also the imagination. The opening amuse-bouche set the tone, and the standout for me was the slow-cooked beef short rib, which balanced richness and texture beautifully. It was followed by a whimsical dessert that looked like something out of a storybook-both elegant and nostalgic.
From a service perspective, the team operates with a clear sense of purpose and rhythm. Courses arrive in perfect timing, explanations are thoughtful without being rehearsed, and the optional wine pairing is well-judged, complementing rather than overwhelming the food.
Unlike traditional tasting menu establishments, Six By Nico feels accessible without compromising on sophistication. At under £50 for six courses, it offers exceptional value in central London, especially considering the calibre of the experience. Vegetarian options are also well-executed, which isn’t always the case in themed menus.
In a city saturated with fine dining options, what sets Six By Nico apart is its ability to surprise and delight every few weeks, inviting diners back not just for the food, but for the evolving narrative. If you're seeking a memorable and affordable culinary journey, this place earns its spot at the top.
