A fabulous experience - we did the Italian road trip menu, one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian, were permitted to mix a like for like course between the menus which was nice. Food was delicious, portion sizes are small but that was expected, an interesting take on some of the classic Italian dishes, well presented food, good atmosphere, staff was friendly and welcoming. Time between dishes can be a little off as some courses were quick while some weren’t but nothing too bad. Overall we had an excellent evening.
Really enjoyed the Six Wonders of the World tasting menu—the puzzle element was a fun touch. That said, after trying a few of their themed tasting menus, the dishes start to feel quite similar in flavor. Despite the creative themes, the taste profiles don’t vary much from one menu to another.
Earlier this week, I had a chance to eat at a 3-star Michelin restaurant in Munich where the 10 course tasting menu was north of 350 Euro. In comparison with Six by Nico, the price point at 55 quid for six courses is great; however, what they make up for in price, they lose out on in execution and taste. The menu pictured here was part of the Mad Hatter tasting menu with each course drawing inspiration from the stories in some way. I found that the courses themselves were uneven with some elements being successful while others fell flat. The edible menu for the breakfast course was a nice touch and some of the other flourishes were appreciated, but many times I just didn't like the course overall and felt it could be scaled back to be more successful. In addition, one of the service members reminded us of the 2 hour time window for the table even though we were moving through the courses as they came to us and we weren't eating slowly. It gave the whole thing a bit of an assembly line feel. Listen, I get when you have a tasting menu at that price point, you need to turn over the tables at a reasonable clip but there's got to be a better way to communicate that to the guests. Overall, super ambitious to regularly change the menu to new themes and I applaud the effort but just not for me. Note: I opted to include the cocktail pairing which is why my price per person is so much higher.
Recently dined at Six by Nico London, experiencing their intriguing Mad Hatter menu, and overall, it was quite the culinary adventure. Food: The dishes were creatively inspired and beautifully presented, each offering a unique twist that resonated with the whimsical theme. While most plates were delightful and flavorful, a couple fell slightly short of expectations in terms of seasoning. However, the imaginative approach to the menu made it a memorable experience. Service: The service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. They were quick to address our needs and made great recommendations, enhancing our overall dining experience. Ambience: The atmosphere was fun and playful, fitting the theme well, but it felt a bit crowded and noisy at times. A more intimate setting would have elevated the experience further. All in all, Six by Nico delivers a delightful dining experience with outstanding service and inventive food, though the ambience could use a touch of refinement. I look forward to returning for another themed adventure!
We had a great afternoon, food was amazing, had the 10 course Sunday tasting menu, was so full! Also had the matching cocktails although I think one of the cocktails was just too big and couldn’t drink it all with the amount of food, but otherwise everything was outstanding
